Independent Living

The Independent Living strand introduces interns to gain knowledge in six areas of home economics, namely:
- Education and Community awareness
- Home Management and Design
- Arts and Crafts (sewing and textiles)
- Basic Budgeting
- Health & Hygiene
- Cooking
The main goals of Independent Living are: (1) to help interns prepare themselves for home and family living with focus on personal well-being and development; and (2) to provide certain experiences which can help prepare interns for professional home economics employment.
